Baseball Brawl of the Week: Reds vs. Cardinals - 8/10/2010

The infamous Johnny Cueto kicking incident. Instigated by Reds' second baseman Brandon Phillips's inflammatory comments about his hatred for the Cardinals to the media the previous night, Cardinals catcher Yadier Molina confronted Phillips during his first at bat in the 1st inning, leading to both benches clearing. This fight had it all: two divisional rivals, premeditation, heavyweights Phillips and Molina, veteran Scott Rolen in the mix, legendary managers Dusty Baker and Tony La Russa mincing choice words, and, of course, starting pitcher Johnny Cueto flailing desperate kicks like a rat backed into a corner. The fight would lead to Cueto getting suspended for 7 games and managers La Russa and Baker served 2 each for their involvement.
