Australian Basketball Asst. Coach Luc Longley is so Australian it Hurts

While team USA struggled to squeak out a 98-88 win over Australia yesterday in Rio, the only thing I could focus on was Australian assistant coach Luc Longley. Longley looks far different than he did during his NBA playing days, where he won 3 NBA Championships as a member of the Bulls. Longley appears to have morphed into every Australian stereotype programmed into my mind. He looks like a background actor in an Outback steakhouse commercial. It's almost like the Australian Basketball Federation asked central casting for the most Australian looking guy they had. His ginger beard and curly locks make him look like he should be at Bondi Beach, enjoying a Fosters with his mates and a few sheilas, fresh out of the water after surfing a few sets. The only thing more Australian than Longley would be if the Boomers, as the Aussie national team is affectionately nicknamed, had an actual kangaroo on the bench.
